Redesign of logo for Ekeberg skole, one of the largest elementary schools in Oslo.
CLIENT
Ekeberg skole, one of the largest elementary schools in Oslo with around 800 students.
TASK
Never having had an official logo, I was tasked with designing a logo that embodied professionalism while paying respect to it’s 60+ year history.
WORK
The logo is inspired by the schools marching band banner, an old, hand sewn design depicting an oak tree native to the region.
In my design the oak leaf also creates the school’s initials «E» and «S».
NOTE: Shortly after completion of the logo, Oslo local government went through an extensive rebranding of all it’s subdivisions – including all public schools. This meant that each school were given generic logos to use, consisting of the Oslo city seal and the name of the school.
Although short lived, my design was well received by the management at Ekeberg.
